FINRA’s Regulatory Dispute Against Robin Lee Taliaferro
According to the AWC signed by Robin Lee Taliaferro in July of 2022,Taliaferro allegedly failed to respond to FINRA’s requests for information in connection with its investigation to determine whether he engaged in any sales practice violations during his associations with several member firms.
Without admitting or denying FINRA’s findings, Robin Taliaferro agreed to being permanently barred from associating with any FINRA member in all capacities.
Robin Lee Taliaferro Reportedly Involved in Past Customer Dispute Claims
According to his Brokercheck Report, Taliaferro was the subject of multiple customer dispute claims.
A customer dispute claim was reportedly filed in January of 1995 by a customer who claimed unsuitable recommendations and misrepresentations regarding R.H. Macy bonds. The customer requested $19,551 in alleged damages and settled for $15,703.40.
Taliaferro was reportedly involved in another customer dispute claim, filed in November of 1994, in which a client alleged misrepresentation when acquiring corporate bonds between October of 1988 and December of 1988. The client requested $19,851.40 in damages and settled for $10,000.
In October of 1994, a customer dispute disclosure alleged misrepresentation, providing unsuitable recommendations, and a breach of fiduciary trust. The customer requested $38,000 in damages and settled for $17,500.
Taliaferro was the subject of another customer dispute claim, which was reportedly filed in June of 1993. The customer alleged negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, and breach of contract and fraud regarding Paine Webber proprietary limited partnerships, non-proprietary limited partnerships, and treasure bond option trading. The dispute claim was settled for $57,500.
A customer dispute claim was filed in October of 1987 that alleged excessive trading, providing unsuitable recommendations, and negligence. According to the claim, the customer lost approximately $55,000 In stocks, options, treasury bonds, and treasury bond options on futures. The customer requested $55,000 in alleged damages and settled for $19,500.

Robin Lee Taliaferro Has Been Registered with FINRA Since 1987
Robin Lee Taliaferro was most recently employed as a broker with Coastal Equities, Inc., in Solvang, California. He reportedly left the firm in 2022 due to being barred by the FINRA from acting as a broker.
From 2020 to 2021, Taliaferro was employed by Boustead Securities, LLC and Sutter Securities Inc., located in Irvine, California. He served as a broker for Western International Securities, Inc., located in San Jose, California, from 2013 to 2020.
According to his Brokercheck report, in 1994 Taliaferro was reportedly discharged from his then employer, Painewebber, Inc. following the filling of no less than five customer complaints against the former broker, the Brokercheck reports. According to the broker comment, two customers allegedly took no further action, while the remaining three were arbitration claims.
